Emily is an experienced Speech Pathologist with 15 years of expertise in assessing and treating a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders across the lifespan. As a mother of two, Emily brings a compassionate, family-focused, disability-affirming approach to her practice, ensuring that therapy is client-centered and tailored to the unique needs of each individual and their family. Her priority is to create a supportive environment where clients and their families feel heard, understood, and involved in the therapy process.
Emily has experience working with infant feeding, including strategies for optimal bottle and breast feeding and introduction to solids.
Emily's paediatric speech pathology service is dedicated to supporting children in their communication and development journey. She offers assessments and therapy for a wide range of needs, including speech and language delays, late talkers, and developmental disabilities. Her goal is for her clients to express themselves with confidence and to give parents and caregivers the tools to foster communication development at home.
Emily provides specialized support for feeding challenges and fussy eating behaviours, and has completed training in the SOS Feeding Approach, Oromotor Feeding Therapy, and Responsive Feeding Intervention.
Emily offers tailored interventions for children on the autism spectrum, focusing on enhancing communication, social skills, regulation, and overall wellbeing. Every client receives individualized care in a nurturing, supportive environment.
Emily has training in the More Than Words program (Hanen) and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS).
Emily enjoys working with both low- and high-tech AAC to enhance her client's communication skills. She has completed additional training in the area of AAC and continues to develop her skills and knowledge in this area.
Emily provides assessments and reporting for adults with swallowing difficulties related to disability, stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, and other conditions.
Emily provides assessments and reporting for adults with swallowing difficulties in aged care facilities in the Toowoomba region.
